South Torrance won its fifth straight match Tuesday with a four-set victory over league rival West Torrance. Freshman outside hitter Lauren Walsh led the Spartans (11-8, 4-0 Pioneer League) to the 25-13, 25-17, 23-25, 25-15 win.
Walsh had 12 kills and two blocks and senior Bailey Oliver added nine kills and three blocks. The Spartans had a season-high 14 service aces in the match.
South had a road matchup with Chadwick on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in a rematch of last season’s second-round CIF playoff that South won in five games.
